What with going on holiday to Australia, Christmas and Print Source work deadlines, I haven't had much time to blog over the past couple of months, but now I have a bit of time, I thought I'd post a couple of my designs I've spotted in the shops. First up one of my faves is a Peacock design I did, which is available from Michaels as printed craft papers.

And secondly a surf board tshirt placement, which is available to buy from Seripress, who sell designs for heat transfer. It's included in their Winter 2012/13 catalogue. Here's their version, and my original below.

Society 6 shop

I've finally got my Society6 shop up and running, just in time for Christmas! I can't wait to buy a few items myself to see them in the flesh! My 6 signature prints are available as art prints, and stretched canvases, but i'm most excited by the ipod cases and laptop skins. I'll also be adding some brand new designs very soon!

Thames Markets

I've been accepted to sell at another craft fair, so come check out the new Thames Markets, in Kingston Upon Thames, on the last saturday of every month. My first stall will be on Aug 27th- very excited to be selling in the beautiful townhall, in my home town. It's always great to have some support so if any of you live nearby it would be great to see you there! Hope to see lots of friendly faces!

Boss Cards

I'm mega busy at the moment as i'm away on holiday next week (hence the lack of posts) but I just wanted to do a quick post to let you know about a range of my cards that has just gone on sale on Boss Cards. One of the new breed of online card shops where you can personalise your cards, and then they send it out for you. Of Cabbages and Kings Market

I've been meaning to sort out some stalls for myself at London Markets since my textiles fair back in March which was a huge success, and now things are a bit quieter for me on the print side I have the time. So, I'll be selling my designs at Of Cabbages and Kings, at their one-off market at the Bread and Roses Pub in Clapham on June 11th. It's always great to have some support so if any of you live nearby it would be great to see you there!

I was doing a bit of searching for some of my prints in the shops and came across 3 today. First up, some scribbled stars and hearts on Primark pants, and my original below.

Secondly a kid's duvet cover and pillows in Verbaudet.

And finally a maternity dress and shirt again in Verbaudet. Love seeing the finished products- makes it all worth while!

Kew Gardens

I took a trip to Kew Gardens at the end of Feburary to check out the Tropical Flowers exhibit. It was truly stunning, with a wonderful array of orchids in beautiful bright colours. I got to try out my new digital SLR camera, and took lots of photos to inspire me when designing. Here are a few of my favourites...

Designers I love: Lisa Stannard

I've recently come across the work of print designer and illustrator Lisa Stannard. I love her use of layered colours and sketchy drawings, which combine to produce beautiful designs. Collaborations with Whitney Eve Port and Lucy in Disguise, have produced a fab range of prints and illustration work, and she's bringing out a new collection of her own soon.

Holi Festival- March 20th

I love colour, and what better way to celebrate it than with the colourful Hindu festival of Holi. On the main day, people throw coloured powder and coloured water at each other to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. These beautiful colours are so inspiring, and I find myself going back to these images time and again!

Makeup and Wash Bags now for sale

Textiles fair stall pics

I had a brilliant time at the textiles fair this weekend. I had lots of lovely comments about my work, and a good few sales too. It wasn't so scary when I got there, and I would definitely do another one, although I couldn't have managed without the help of my lovely friends to set up the stall and run it. Contemporary textiles fair

I'm super excited, (and scared) as I've just managed to bag myself a stall at the Contemporary Textiles Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington on the weekend of 12th/13th March. It was a bit of a fluke really, as I applied for a fair with them later in the year, and they came back to me asking if I'd like to exhibit at this one instead as they'd had some cancellations. Bit scared as I've never done a fair before, and I only have 2 weeks to organise everything, but it's too good an opportunity to pass up, so i'll just have to be speedy gonzalez for the next 10 days! Really need to make some more products as the stand is quite big, so i need more stuff to fill it! If any of you live in south london then be sure to pop along!

Studio Sneak Peek

It's always lovely to see where other people work, and since I gave my studio a spring clean on monday, I thought it would be a good opportunity to take some pics of it whilst it's relatively tidy (for a change.) So here is a sneak peek of where I spend my days. I'm really lucky to have 2 desks, one for drawing, painting and sewing, and one for my computer. Shame i'll probably mess it up today as I'm starting work on some new cushion covers that will be on sale asap.

Inspiration: Artist Stina Persson

I'm loving the work of swedish illustrator Stina Persson at the moment. Her beautiful watercolour paintings have a mix of elegance and edgyness to them, and she uses a stunning array of colours. I love the mix of sketchy drawings and fluid watercolour blending with splashes, drips, and the occassional pattern thrown in. I wish I lived in NY right now so that I could go to her upcoming exhibition, Perfectly Flawed.

Design on Paperchase notebook

I was thrilled to come across one of my designs on a notebook in Paperchase last week, and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of another design that is due to be on a wrap. I've always loved Paperchase's colourful and quirky designs, and the experience was made all the better when the shop assistant serving me commented on how much she loved this design- she was rather surprised when I told her it was one of mine!

I took a little trip to Brighton last weekend, and walked along the sea in Hove. I absolutely loved the colours of all the little beach huts. They would make a beautiful summer colour palette.

I was very excited when I went into Primark on friday to see some pants that I had designed on sale. It's the first time I've seen one of my prints in a shop- and hopefully there will be lots more to come! Go buy some- they are only £1.70- bargain...

Mommie font

A little trip to Rome has given me a few inspiring images to show you. I love the composition of the typical italian scooter next to this old faded poster and the bright terracotta wall- great for a tshirt placement print idea.

and these marbled floors in the basilica remind me of all the mirror prints around at the moment

lastly I love the colour mixture in these blurred photos of confetti on the spannish steps- they make a lovely colour palette for spring/summer, as seen below.

I found a great website today called colour lovers. It has lots of beautiful colour palletes on there that have been submitted by the general public, aswell as info on colour trends in various artistic disciplines- check out a few of my favourites...

and this is a SS11 print I designed with one of the colour palettes. I just added in white for a background colour.
